Every Flower Has a Story: The Memories Behind My Pressed Flower Frame
There's a moment that comes to many of us, often when we're standing in front of a wilting bouquet of flowers.
We know we should throw them away. The petals are beginning to fall, the edges are browning, and we know it's a natural part of their life cycle. And yet, we hesitate. We move the vase to a different spot on the shelf. We tell ourselves we'll throw them away tomorrow. Somehow, we're just not quite ready to let go.
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.
Flowers have a way of becoming so much more than something beautiful in our homes. They remind us of the people we love, the days we wish we could relive and the moments we want to keep close for a little longer.
And that's what makes it so difficult to say goodbye. Because sometimes, it's not really the flowers we're holding onto. It's everything they mean to us.
Why Flowers Mean So Much to Us
When we receive flowers, we don't just see the blooms themselves. We remember who gave them to us, the occasion they were for and how we felt in that moment.
A wedding bouquet, for example, can hold so many memories. It's a reminder of the excitement of getting ready, the emotions of the ceremony, the laughter shared with loved ones and the beginning of a new chapter. When those flowers begin to fade, it can feel as though a little piece of that day is fading with them.
Flowers can also hold memories of someone special. Perhaps they were a gift from a partner, a birthday surprise from a friend or part of a farewell to someone deeply loved. Whatever the occasion, they can become a physical reminder of a relationship, a feeling or a moment we never want to forget.
This is why I believe flowers deserve to be treasured beyond their time in a vase.
They might not last forever in their original form, but with care, some of their beauty can be preserved and given a new place in our lives.
That's what inspires me to create pressed flower frames. I want to help people turn flowers connected to meaningful moments into keepsakes they can enjoy in their homes for years to come.

The Stories Behind the Flowers
Every frame I create begins with something that matters to someone.
Sometimes, it's a wedding bouquet filled with memories of a day that went by far too quickly. Other times, it's flowers connected to a much-loved person, a special celebration or a moment someone wants to hold onto.
Although every bouquet is different, each one carries its own story. And I feel incredibly lucky to play a small part in helping those stories live on.
I've started bringing these stories together in my Earth Tone gallery, sharing the flowers I've preserved and the memories behind the finished frames. I want you to see more than the flowers themselves. I want you to understand why they matter and what makes each piece personal to the person who entrusted them to me.
When Annie came to me, she wanted to keep a little piece of her wedding day close. She loved the full, natural look of my wildflower-style frames and wanted something that captured the beauty of her bouquet.
Her flowers included beautiful white roses and delicate gypsophila, which I brought together in a natural arrangement designed to celebrate the flowers themselves and the memories attached to them.
The finished frame became a way for Annie to keep a little piece of her wedding day in her home, somewhere she could see and enjoy it long after the celebrations had passed.
Stories like Annie's remind me why I love what I do. It's not simply about preserving flowers. It's about helping someone hold onto a moment that means so much to them.

More Than a Finished Frame
One of the things I've come to appreciate most about creating pressed flower frames is that the process involves so much more than arranging flowers and placing them behind glass.
It's about listening, understanding what matters to each person and finding a way to reflect their memories in something they can keep.
When someone comes to me with their flowers, I want to understand their story. I want to know what the flowers mean to them, what they'd love to remember and how they imagine displaying their finished piece.
From there, I can begin thinking about the arrangement.
Some flowers lend themselves to a fuller, more natural composition, while others might suit a little more space around each bloom. I consider the colours, shapes and textures of the flowers, as well as the overall feeling the customer wants their frame to have.
The frame itself matters, too. Whether it's the warmth of natural oak or a more delicate frame style, I want the finished piece to feel right for both the flowers and the home it will become part of.
Every decision helps bring the different elements together, creating something that feels personal rather than simply decorative.
I also take care to handle each bouquet thoughtfully throughout the process. I know these aren't just flowers to the person sending them to me. They might represent a wedding day, a much-loved person or a memory they find difficult to put into words.
Being trusted with something so meaningful is never something I take lightly.
For me, the finished frame is about more than preserving the appearance of the flowers. It's about creating a lasting reminder of why they mattered in the first place.
Your Flowers Have a Story
If you're standing in front of a fading bouquet, unable to bring yourself to throw it away, I understand why.
Those flowers might remind you of someone you love, a day you wish you could relive or a moment that means more to you than words can explain.
You don't need to know which frame size to choose, how your flowers could be arranged or whether they'll be suitable for pressing. You don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
You can simply tell me their story.
I'll help you explore what's possible and talk you through the options, so we can find a way to preserve your flowers that feels personal to you and the memories you want to hold onto.
Because sometimes, the smallest things hold the biggest memories. And I believe those memories deserve a place in your everyday life, somewhere you can see them, enjoy them and return to them whenever you need to.
Your flowers have a story. I'd love to hear it. 🌿
