The Story Behind the Frame: How Wedding Flowers Become Forever Memories

The Story Behind the Frame

What do you do with flowers from a moment you never want to forget?

I think this is something I hear so often.

You have a bunch of flowers that mean so much to you, but you know they won't last forever. Eventually they fade, and you're left wondering what to do with them because throwing them away just doesn't feel right.

Because really, it's not just the flowers you're trying to hold onto.

It's everything they remind you of.

A birthday gift with the sweetest story behind it

Recently, I had a personalised pressed flower frame ordered by Nathan as a birthday gift for his wife, Lucy.

Her birthday was coming up and he wanted to do something that felt really special for her. Something thoughtful, personal and if you ask me, incredibly romantic.

After chatting through some ideas together, we came up with the loveliest concept.

A pressed flower frame centred around the bouquet from their wedding day.

And honestly, I couldn't have loved the idea more.

From Las Vegas to a keepsake for home

Nathan and Lucy had got married in Las Vegas, and their bouquet was made up of the most beautiful mix of blush pink roses, deep pink roses, gypsophila and sunflowers.

These flowers became the starting point for the frame.

I always think there is something so special about taking flowers from a day that already means so much and giving them another life.

Instead of letting them slowly fade away, they can become something you get to see every day.

A little reminder of that day, right there on your wall.

Turning flowers into memories.

Making it personal to Lucy

Nathan also sent over a photograph from their wedding day, which I had printed as a Giclée print.

I then arranged the pressed flowers around the photograph, bringing the two together.

Above the photo, we added the words:

“You are my today and all of my tomorrows.”

Tell me that doesn't melt your heart.

I think that's what I loved most about this frame. Every little part of it meant something.

The photograph captured their day.

The flowers brought a piece of their wedding back into the frame.

And the quote tied the whole thing together.

It wasn't just a pretty frame. It was their story.

Creating it together

Once I had arranged everything, I sent the design over to Nathan so he could have a look before I secured everything into place.

He was happy with it, so I got to work carefully securing each of the pieces.

This is one of my favourite parts of creating bespoke frames. I don't want to simply make something and send it off. I love being able to work with you on the little details and make sure the finished piece feels personal to you.

After all, it's your memories I'm handling.

And that matters to me.

The reason I do this

When Nathan and Lucy received the frame, they were so happy with it.

And honestly, this is the part of my work that means the most to me.

Knowing that something I've made is now sitting in someone's home, and that they can look at it every day and be reminded of a day that meant so much to them.

There's something really lovely about the way we show love to the people around us.

Nathan wanted to make Lucy feel special for her birthday, and he chose to take something from a day they already cherished and turn it into something she could keep close.

I think that's what these frames are really about.

Not just preserving flowers.

Preserving a feeling.

And then the loveliest surprise arrived...

A few days after the frame had arrived, I received a bottle of red wine from Nathan and Lucy.

How lovely is that?!

It was such an unexpected and thoughtful thing to receive, and honestly, it meant so much to me.

When you're an artist and a small business owner, you put so much of yourself into the things you create. So knowing that something you've made has genuinely meant something to another person is a pretty special feeling.

Thank you, Nathan and Lucy.

You have no idea how much it means to have my work recognised and to be trusted with bringing these gorgeous stories to life.

Every frame has a story behind it

I think that's what I love most about what I do.

Every pressed flower frame has a story behind it.

Sometimes it's a wedding.

Sometimes it's a birthday.

Sometimes it's flowers from someone we've lost.

Sometimes it's simply a bunch of flowers that meant far more than we realised at the time.

The flowers themselves might be beautiful, but it's the memories attached to them that make them worth keeping.

I love being able to pause your florals in time and turn them into something that's made to live on your walls, not in a box.

Something you can look at every day and still feel that little connection to the moment they came from.

A little piece of that moment, still here

Thank you again to Nathan and Lucy for trusting me with such a special part of their story, and for the very lovely bottle of wine.

Stories like this are exactly why I love what I do.

Because at the end of the day, I'm not just pressing flowers.

I'm helping you hold onto something that mattered.

And if you have flowers from a moment that means something to you, you don't have to decide what to do with them straight away.

Sometimes, they can become a keepsake to treasure forever.

A little piece of that moment, still here.
